Export-Grade Packing for European and Long-Distance Moves
Export-grade packing is standard on every European move JR Removals handles, and available on any UK move on request. Export-grade means: heavier-duty double-walled boxes, certified cushioning materials, fragile wrap rated for longer journeys and customs handling, and tape that holds in a warm lorry over multiple days.
For moves to France, Spain, Germany, Italy, and beyond, JR packs to the standard required for the full journey, including any customs inspection at the border. In-house customs paperwork, inventory documentation, and export declarations are handled by the JR team.
For long-distance UK moves on the Scotland corridor or the northern run, export-grade materials are available on request at the same fixed-price model.
What Each Tier Includes
Every JR packing job starts with a site survey or video assessment. We size the pack: number of rooms, volume of fragile content, whether the move is local, long-distance, or international. The quote that follows is a fixed price, broken down by tier.
Full Pack
We do everything. The crew arrives a day or two before move day and packs every room: kitchen, bedrooms, lounge, loft, garage. Fragile and specialist items are wrapped properly, every box is labelled by room, and everything is ready for the lorry on move day. Antiques receive the same handling as the most fragile glassware. The right tier when you would rather not touch the packing at all.
What is included: boxes, packing paper, tape, archive cartons, bubble wrap, mattress covers, wardrobe boxes, fragile labels, room-by-room labelling plan, and placement of filled boxes at the loading point.
Part Pack
Materials Only
We deliver boxes, packing paper, tape, archive cartons, bubble wrap, mattress covers, and wardrobe boxes to your address a few days before move day. You pack at your own pace. The right tier if you have packed before and you are confident, or if you want to spread the work over several weeks.
Mixing tiers across rooms is normal. Many customers take a full pack on the kitchen and loft, part pack on the bedrooms, and materials only for the wardrobes or office. We bill what you use.
What Is Not Included
- Loft, garage, or outbuilding clearance as a separate job (book as a distinct service alongside the removal)
- Item disposal: we do not take unwanted items away
- Unpacking at the new address is an optional add-on: confirm at the survey if you want the kitchen reassembled, beds rebuilt, and boxes broken down at the destination
- Moves to Northern Ireland and the Scottish islands are case-by-case only: call the office to discuss
