Every JR international move starts with a free survey – in your home or by video. We size the move properly: volume, destination, full-load or groupage, timing. The quote that follows includes the move plus customs paperwork preparation, costed separately so you can see what’s what.
Ahead of move day we deliver export-grade boxes and materials, pack what you’d like packed, prepare the inventory and customs declarations on your behalf, and arrange the Channel crossing – ferry or tunnel, depending on the destination.
The vehicle loads at your UK address and crosses to your new home – the same team end to end for nearer destinations, a partner crew at the far end on longer runs, agreed at quote. Furniture placed and reassembled once customs clear.

Each gets scoped at survey and costed clearly at quote, so the move doesn’t fall apart somewhere across the Channel.

Full-load when the move’s big enough for a dedicated lorry; groupage (shared lorry) when it’s not. We’ll tell you which makes more sense at quote, costed clearly so you can see the difference.

Customs: Since 2021, every move from the UK to the EU needs customs declarations – the same paperwork businesses do for goods, scaled to a household move. We prepare the inventory, the declarations – UK export side and destination import side – and the value documentation; you sign, we file, you keep copies of everything.
Full Load Vs Groupage: Full-load means a dedicated vehicle running only your move – faster (typically 3–7 days door to door) and the right choice for a full house or a fixed date. Groupage means a shared vehicle – cheaper, with a wider window (typically 7–14 days), and right for smaller moves with flexible dates. We’ll tell you at quote which makes more sense.

Which countries do you cover?
Core: France, Spain, Germany, Italy. Also Belgium, Netherlands, Switzerland, Austria, Portugal and Ireland, with Scandinavia and Eastern Europe on request. Outside Europe: case by case.
How does customs paperwork work?
We prepare the inventory and declarations on your behalf – you sign, we file, you keep copies. Most clients spend under 30 minutes on it, start to finish.
What's groupage?
A shared vehicle – your move plus one or two others on the same route. Cheaper than a dedicated vehicle, with a wider delivery window (typically 7–14 days door to door); the right choice for smaller moves with flexible dates.
Are you insured for international moves?
Goods-in-transit cover including international jurisdictions. Insurance documentation available before any move. Higher-value items (art, antiques, vehicles) may need additional cover – flagged at survey.
Do you handle VAT and import documents?
Standard customs declarations, yes – included in the quote. Country-specific import VAT is handled where straightforward and flagged where it needs a specialist; some destinations (Spain in particular) need local registration, which we’ll flag if it applies.
What does a European move cost?
It depends on the destination, the volume, full-load vs groupage and the customs scope. A free survey comes first, at home or by video. The quote is fixed and written, broken out so you can see what’s the move and what’s the customs side.
