House Removals
From single armchairs to four-bedroom moves we’ve moved hundreds of families across Sussex, Surrey and Kent – and we’d like to move yours.
TRIPLE-ACCREDITED
STRATEGIC PACKING
FULLY INSURED
A house move is one of life’s stressful moments. Our job is to take it off your plate – pack it, lift it, drive it, and put it back together at the other end. We’ve been moving families across Sussex, Surrey and Kent from our yard in Horsham since 2017, and we’d like to move you next.
What a JR house move actually looks like
Every JR house move starts with a free survey – in your home or over video, whichever fits your day. We size the job up properly: how many vans we’ll need, how the crew should sequence the load, where the awkward access points are, what kind of materials your fragile bits need. The quote that follows is fixed. The number you see is the number you pay, no day-of-the-move surprises.
On move day we bring the boxes, the blankets, the wrap, and a permanent crew – the same names you’ll see on review sites, not a rota of agency strangers. We pack what you’d rather we packed, load it in the order it’ll need to come off, drive it to the new address, and unload exactly where you tell us. Beds get rebuilt. Wardrobes go back together. The kettle’s on before we leave.
What you don’t get: chasing for updates, surprise charges, or a crew that hands the job off halfway through. One survey, one quote, one team, start to finish.
Why customers pick us for house moves
The honest answer is that most removals firms can show up with a van. Fewer can do the careful bit – the fragile-glass-in-the-loft bit, the doors-and-windows-measured bit, the tight-stairs-without-marks bit. That’s where we put the work. We measure access points at survey, plan the load around them, and pad whatever needs padding. Antiques get the same wrap as the IKEA stuff. Drum kits and grandfather clocks travel as carefully as the everyday boxes.
The other thing customers tell us – and we hear this regularly enough that we put it in the brand – is that the office picks up the phone. Wendy answers in working hours. James calls back when she doesn’t. Ring after hours and we’ll come back the next morning, not in three working days. Dates change, lives change, completion runs late: tell us, and we’ll work the problem with you.
We’re triple-accredited (Surrey Trading Standards, Move Assured, AIM 5/5) and fully insured for goods in transit and at our yard. The accreditation is what gets us through your door. The care is what brings you back when you move next.
Why customers pick us for house moves
Every JR house move runs the same way. A free survey before we quote. Careful loading on the day. Access work measured at both ends so nothing comes as a surprise. Optional extras like packing and reassembly get added at quote – pick what you’d like us to handle and what you’d rather do yourself.
Strategic Packing
Boxes, blankets, paper, fragile-wrap, mattress covers, archive cartons. Antiques and glass get proper care – not the “it’ll be fine” treatment.
Careful Loading
Heavy items first, fragile items last, every load secured. Vehicles loaded in the order they’ll need to come off, so your move stays organised at the new end.
Doors & Windows Measured
Tight access? Awkward stairs? Period-property quirks? We measure at survey so nothing comes as a surprise on move day.
Packing & Reassembly
Two great services you can add at survey are packing and dis/reassembly. With packing you can opt for full, part, or materials only, and with and dis/reassembly service we’ll cover beds, wardrobes, dining tables and more going room by room.
House sizes, chain timing, and our patch
Every size of house move, every property type – studios, 1-bed flats, terraces, semi-detached, 4-bed family homes, the lot. The crew and lorry size scale to the move; the standard doesn’t. A full survey upfront tells us what’s coming and what’s going to be awkward at either end — period-property stairs, new-build access points, lifts and parking permits in flats.
The chain is what catches most movers. Completion dates slip; it’s normal. We pencil the date at booking, confirm it about a week out, and flex it if your solicitor moves things by a day or two. Short-notice changes work as long as the diary’s clear — tell us as soon as you know and we’ll work it together.
Most of our moves are local: Horsham, Crawley, Guildford, Reigate, Tunbridge Wells, Brighton, Dorking, Haywards Heath. Sussex, Surrey and Kent are home turf – short drives, known routes, the same crew most of your neighbours have used. Any postcode further out is fine too: we run long-distance moves → across mainland Britain regularly, and European moves → when the move calls for it.
We lift You, Not just the boxes
A permanent crew, the same names every time. Antiques wrapped like antiques – and the IKEA stuff treated the same. We leave you settled, not just unloaded.
House move questions
MOVING HOUSE, EXPLAINED.
What customers ask before a house move. If yours isn’t here, just ring us.
How far ahead should I book?
Peak season – May through September and the Christmas-to-New-Year window – books up around 4-6 weeks ahead. Off-peak we can usually take a move with 2–3 weeks’ notice. Short-notice moves are possible if the diary’s clear; ring us and ask.
What does the survey involve?
About 30-45 minutes, in your home or over video. We walk through every room, count what’s coming and what’s not, check access at both ends, and ask the questions a load plan needs answering. The quote follows within 24 hours, fixed-price, written down.
What's covered by insurance?
Goods-in-transit cover applies from pickup to delivery. Fully insured at our yard if your move involves storage. Insurance documentation available before any move – just ask.
What if my dates change?
Dates moving by a day or two is normal in the chain world. Tell us as soon as you know and we’ll flex with you. With a few days’ notice we don’t penalise the change. If a date moves last-minute, we work the problem together.
Do you dismantle and reassemble?
Yes – beds, wardrobes, dining tables, garden furniture, the lot. Confirmed at survey, room-by-room: pick what you’d like us to handle and what you’d rather do yourself. Fixings get bagged and labelled at disassembly so the right screws meet the right piece on reassembly, whoever’s putting it back together. Find out more about our dismantling & reassembly service here.
Can you handle the packing too?
Yes – through our Packing Service. Three tiers: full pack (we do it all), part pack (we handle the fragile bits, you do the rest), or materials only (we bring the boxes, you pack at your own pace). Confirmed room by room at survey. Find out more about our packing service here.
Whats the cost to move house?
Honest answer: every move is different, so we don’t publish a price list. The variables are size, distance, access at both ends, whether you want full or part packing, and how many crew the job needs. The route to a real number is the survey + quote – fixed, written, no surprises. Most moves get a number back within 24 hours.
Real moves, real reviews. The kind that get screenshotted and sent to family.
